Privacy is the immediate concern. We put slides over our laptop cameras for a reason. Having a 360-degree AI eye watching you sleep and pick out clothes? It's a leap.
The Case for Productivity
I’m actually going to make a case for why this might actually work. There’s a massive community online doing "Watch Me Study" live streams. It’s about accountability.
If you feel like someone—even a fake little hologram person—is watching you, you’re less likely to fall down a TikTok rabbit hole. It’s a psychological hack for the lonely or the unmotivated.
The Mind With Heart Panda
Next up is a $500 AI Panda stuffy designed for older adults. It uses "Emotional AI" to react to touch, remember voices, and keep caregivers in the loop. It’s meant to combat loneliness and help with memory engagement.

Look, I love crunchy ice. I’ve literally cracked a tooth on a date because I was chewing on a massive cube. But $500 for an AI-infused machine?
Apparently, the AI "detects when it's about to freeze up" and defrosts before it gets loud. I’m not sure we needed neural networks for the freezer tray, but hey, that’s CES for you.

The $400 Vibrating Blade
This is actually the funniest thing I saw. It’s an ultrasonic chef’s knife from Seattle Ultrasonics that vibrates while you’re slicing. Now, when I first heard this, I thought of those electric turkey carving knives. But no, this is different.
"The blade vibrates at over 30,000 times a second... the vibrations are so subtle that you can't see the blade move, hear it, or feel anything in the handle."
I might be a pessimist here, but if I can’t see it, hear it, or feel it... is it actually vibrating? Or did I just spend $400 on a very standard knife? They claim it makes slicing vegetables and meat "easier," but realistically, how much sharper could it possibly be?
I’m not a cook, so maybe I shouldn’t weigh in, but I just don't see the use case beyond the novelty of saying you own a vibrating knife.
